When Do I Need To File For Alimony Or Spousal Support?

You need to file for alimony prior to the time that the divorce decree is granted or you will lose your right to alimony forever. Prior that you can file for alimony anytime after you and your spouse have separated. If you do not feel confident that your spouse will support you then you should file for alimony as soon as possible so that you can be eligible for receiving and alimony award as soon as possible.
